Deuteronomy 5-6

The Ten Commandments.  Do you know them?  Could you write them out from memory?  These are immensely important.  This is the foundation upon which our end of the covenant is established.

Two tablets:
  • The first (commandments 1-4) reflect our covenant relationship with God
  • The second (commandments 5-10) reflect our covenant relationship with one another.

Deuteronomy 6 is epic.  Our church's entire ministry to families is based on this chapter.  "When your son asks you in the future..."  May we have loads of God-conversations with our children!

Read it here.

  1. If you want to honor God, your heart is already where God desires it. That person has a wealth of information available to them in the Bible detailing that which God loves and hates and honors His Name.

Sadly, someone can know and attempt to follow the rules without desiring to honor, love, respect, or give glory to the rule Giver. I know firsthand as this was my life prior to God's intervention in my life.
