Want to know what God thinks of a rebellious adult son? Stone him. What does this kind of son look like? He is stubborn and rebellious and does not obey his father or his mother. He doesn't listen to them even after he has been disciplined. He is a glutton and a drunkard. Kill him.

God's standards are higher and more severe than any I could ever imagine or enforce. I am tempted to think Him to insistant or extreme, but only when I fail to recognize His holiness and how distancing in essence He is from me. If God were not as holy as He is, Jesus would not have had to die. Another arrangement could have been reached. But that cup did not pass and Calvary proved the only remedy. The wages of sin really is death. But the grace of God really is eternal in Christ Jesus!
