Deuteronomy 15-16

For there will never cease to be poor people in the land; that is why I am commanding you, ‘You must willingly open your hand to your afflicted and poor brother in your land.’

There is always to be evidence of generosity among God's people.  Generous toward God (check out the Feasts He calls His people to) or generous toward others - especially the poor.

Would people describe you as generous?

Read it here.

  1. I am not sure if people would call me generous and if they would if they would be correct. Especially as I have taken on the responsibility of a wife and children, I have noticed a fear or anxiety rather of not having enough to take care of them and that causes my heart to flinch a little when it comes to giving opportunities. There is Biblical counsel and commandment to take care of our loved ones and family and also the poor, widowed, and destitute. I am sure this is a call to wisdom and discernment. I am also sure my deceptive heart will get it wrong sometimes when I think I'm getting it right and right when I think I've failed. Praise God for His forgiveness in Jesus. Jesus' perfection imputed to me is my only hope of overcoming.
