Joseph! His incredible story will take up the rest of the book of Genesis. It starts out bad (hated, betrayed, beaten and sold by his own brothers) and gets worse from there.
Would God allow one of His future "heros of the faith" to be treated like this? Yep. God has a cool story to weave through the often-difficult days of Joseph. And God won't disappoint.
The parenthetic ch. 38 (Judah and Tamar) will be one more reminder that God had His work cut out for Him with this clan!
