Genesis 15 has God reaffirming His covenant with Abram. Some sweet verses! And it contains a very important verse... "Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness" (15:6). This is followed by an intriguing scene ... and through it God is telling Abram that GOD ALONE can be trusted to fulfill the promises. God is not waiting for Abram to do his part - nope, GOD is the covenant-keeper (even when we fail).
BTW ... Abram falters in ch. 16 - but God keeps His promise ... HE always does!
