Here we find the story of Jacob stealing the blessing from Esau. Everybody blows it in this story! How could God bless people like this??
It is another reminder that God is going to accomplish His plan and will often choose to use less-than-perfect people (to put it mildly) along the way. It is only shocking until I remember that He chooses to use me!
BTW ... don't miss the story at the end of ch. 28 and then read John 1:51. The "stairway" Jacob saw connecting heaven and earth has a Name!
