This prophet testifies to the great and coming Day of the Lord ... the Day that God comes to set things right. That is good news for those who eagerly await His deliverance. It is terrifying news for those who are unprepared to meet their Maker.

... and sing He does... turning to joy, shouting, Rejoicing! Punishment has been removed! There is heaven and hell. .."Yahweh has spoken!"
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome book! I can't help but see Jesus woven throughout.
Chap 1. the "Day of the Lord"...a day of wrath, trumpet blast, whole earth consumed by fire, horrifying end of all inhabitants of the earth. Sounds like 2nd coming of Jesus to me.
1:7. ".. the Lord has prepared a sacrifice. .and consecrated His guests." (Jesus the sacrifice..the One Who consecrates).
1:12 "and at that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps. ..". (All the believers within the light of Jesus?)
2:3 "seek righteousness...perhaps you will be CONCEALED on the day of the Lord's anger". (I know only JESUS can conceal me on that Day).
3:9 "...God will restore pure speech to the peoples.. so that all may call on the name of Yahweh.." (I know of no other way to call on God except by Jesus.)
3:15 "The Lord has removed your punishment..." (sounds like Jesus' work on the cross to me!)
