"The gracious hand of His God was on him" - note how many times this phrase is repeated. God gets the credit. Thus begins Ezra's first-hand account of the events he witnessed as God gave him the privilege of leading His people at such a critical time. But make no mistake - this is God's doing.

Yes... and I love how ezra acknowledges God for even giving King Artaxerxes the ability to glorify God's house!! Artaxerxes didn't even let his counselors or "powerful officers" influence his decision in favor of God. ( great lesson for us... to Stand for Jesus amongst peers... people of influence over us. . etc!). Seeing this quality of King Artaxerxes gave Ezra COURAGE & STRENGTH. .. ultimately from God! 7:27-28. Yes... God's hand is in this again! :)
