I am reading "East of Eden" right now and it makes me think about how many could be comforted by having the LORD as their father when their earthely fathers and family fail them. What kind of difference would we see if people and their resulting psychological and practical approaches to life if they could really adopt (sorry for the backwards pun) a view of God as their Father.
