Proverbs 23

As a father, these words ring loud and clear...
"My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart will indeed rejoice.
My innermost being will cheer
when your lips say what is right."
(Prov. 23:15-16)

I love to hear my children speak what is wise and true.

Teach your children the Wisdom of the Word!

Proverbs 18

One who isolates himself pursues selfish desires;
he rebels against all sound judgment.
(Prov 18:1)

Think through the proverbs found in this book.  How many of them focus on the way we speak to, listen to, and treat our neighbor?  These words of wisdom are to be lived out in community - not in a closet.  Wisdom must be SEEN and HEARD and FELT.

Find yourself pulling away?  That's a dangerous path, my friend!

Proverbs 17

Grandchildren are the crown of the elderly,
and the pride of sons is their fathers.
(Prov. 17:6)

What an awesome world we would live in if all the elderly looked upon their grandchildren as crowns and had hearts filled with joy as they saw the next generation   And then to have sons look up to their fathers with pride and honor.

What would it take for us to live these prophetic words out?  Hmm...maybe we could start by listening to and applying this book to our lives.  Just a thought.
